The plant designed and patented by Rep Italia srl aims to dispose of petroleum-based polymers such as rubber and plastic and used tires, producing in addition electricity at low cost and with near-zero emissions in the atmosphere. The tires can be of whatever dimension, even those used for the mega-mine trucks over 4 meters high and 5 tons of weight.
From the disposal of the plastic, you can get good light-colored diesel, syngas, ash and a modest amount of iron deriving from the binding of the bales. The diesel yield, in the "plastic" disposal process, is considerably higher than that obtained from the tires. The average disposal for the Standard plant requires full daily recycling of about 30 tons. / day of plastic waste. The Maxi plant disposes of 90-120 tons/day.
Note: With the same procedure and using the same system it is possible to dispose of worn-out tires.
The used tires are stored in modest quantities, either on the foreground of the plant equipped with an anti-fire system, or inside a shed already loaded on special trolleys which will be then placed in pyrolytic sealed oven working in total absence of oxygen, namely in absence of flame and harmful or dangerous emissions into the atmosphere. All this means no dioxins or other types of emissions harmful to the environment ecosystem.
The only emission that will be sent into the atmosphere is just a trace of water vapor + a minuscule part of CO2 and the total emissions are well below the most restrictive limits required by ARPA (in Italy) for the protection of the environment.
The Pyrolytic oven is heated and brought to a suitable temperature for a specific time in order to complete the pyrolysis process (this is a slow pyrolysis). In the furnace, the vapors are aspirated and sent to a special heat exchanger externally located to precipitate the liquid part, i.e. gas oil, and separate the gaseous portion, i.e. Syngas. The Syngas is first "washed", ie dedusted, cooled and then compressed in special stainless steel tanks for a future reuse of heating of the oven.
Control panel of pyrolysis plant
Diesel fuel: it is filtered and conveyed into special double-walled outside tanks and buried, then with a special centrifuge system it is refiltered and brought to the generating sets operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Syngas: is captured by special probes and compressed into special tanks outside the plant, according to the Atex standard, then is reused to heat the oven itself.
From the used tires the following sub-products are obtained by distillation:
Diesel fuel: it is filtered and conveyed into special double-walled outside tanks and buried, then with a special centrifuge system it is refiltered and brought to the generating sets operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Syngas: is captured by special probes and compressed into special tanks outside the plant, according to the Atex standard, then is reused to heat the oven itself.
Black Smoke or Carbon-Black: after having been deferrized, at the end of the process it is deposited into special storage tanks to be bagged later on and sold to the paint industry, tires industry or for the production of a toner for printers.
Harmonic steel: it is of good quality, completely extracted from the tires and collected into special containers waiting to be sold and sent to the steelworks.
The generators fumes are equipped with standard mufflers, and those used to heat the pyrolytic oven, are conveyed into a patented blast chiller to be completely eliminated through a labyrinth and cyclone water process. The resulting mud is disposed of in appropriate landfills and then vitrified or rendered inert materials.
CarbonBlack
At the end of the process, the Carbon Black is deposited in appropriate storage tanks, then it is bagged and sold to the industry of paints and tires or for the production of toners for printers.
A quite a good quality of Steel is fully extracted from the tires and is collected in suitable containers waiting to be sent to the steelworks.
The fumes of the generators and of the pyrolysis furnace are conveyed to a Scrubber in order to be exhausted through a water process. The sludge is then disposed of in special landfills. From the Scrubber, through a chimney, comes out only water vapor +fraction of CO2 evaporating into the atmosphere.
A peculiar feature of our plant is the resilience of the design, the careful selection of highly selected and suitable materials, as well as the ease of use that makes it extremely reliable with low maintenance necessities. The system is controlled in all its main functions by a PLC; a control unit emits continuous analysis of the emissions into the atmosphere with relative alarm in case of malfunction.
