Rep Italia srl was founded in Rimini in 2009 for planning and supply of pyrolytic plants for the plastic disposal and for tires disposal. The studies carried out by the founders have started over than thirty years ago arising from the need of cleaning up the environment from a type of solid urban waste which has a degradation time of more than 100 years. This waste, if stacked in the open air, constitutes a real danger for fire risks with consequent pollution of the atmosphere and groundwater. Moreover, it also becomes a normal shelter for rats, insects, and colonies of pathogenic bacteria.
In Italy about 5,000,000 tons of plastic waste and more than 400,000 tons of used tires are produced each year, which added to the previous years, they become a hardly imaginable quantity. Hence the need to find a rational and futuristic disposal solution. The Italian Ronchi Decree strictly forbids burning this waste, although it has been done for a long time.
Burying them, abandoning them along the streets, or depositing them in public landfills, as we have unfortunately seen it done too many times, not only does not solve the problem but ensures a bigger one to future generations. To give an example, a used tire has an outdoor degradation time of about 100 years and this time is doubled if it is buried or immersed in the bottom of a lake.
"Plastic", as a polymer made from petroleum with different formulas, has a huge decomposition time with foreseeable disasters for our ecosystem, while, opportunely treated, it will be a surprisingly large source of renewable and clean energy.
REP Italia srl plant is able to treat indifferently plastic or used tires to obtain diesel oil and/or electricity.
PATENT N° 0001407407
The yield in diesel fuel is about 30% for the disposal of end of life tires and is well over 60% for the plastic residue.
It is possible to use the plant also for the production of diesel fuel, for internal use or it can be placed in the free market (in Italy and in other countries where the free sale of fuels is allowed)
Generator fueled by diesel fuel
The plant makes it possible a daily production of electricity with a unit power of 1MW/h (1,000 Kw / h) operating 24/24 hours. Since the plant is modular, it is possible to increase or multiply the amount of electrical energy produced by adding further generators, without making substantial changes to the initial project.
NB: If required, the supervision of the plant start-up could be followed for the first year by an E.S.CO.,(Energy Service Company) and this management could give possible access to the White or Green Certificates.
